My sweet boy is 16 months old today. My how our world has changed since his arrival. He is such a good baby. I know he is attached to me, but I waiting for the day he LOVES me. This brings me to my heart. The Lord has been constantly bringing the word love to my mind lately. Since we started the process to adopt my idea's of what love is and what it means have changed drastically. We grow up with the idea that love is some romantic feeling that is to be reciprocated. But love I have found is not a feeling, it's not something that is instant, it takes a lot of work. At least our love does. Our human ability to love is nothing in comparison to the love of God. I hear a lot about the doctrine's of grace, the doctrine of baptism, etc.., but I challenge you to realize the doctrine of God's love. It is His love for us that rescued us from the eternal pit of hell that we deserve. It is His love that sent Jesus for us. It is His love that chastens us and drives us to repentance. It is His love that compels us to share the gospel. It is His love that left His precious word to direct our lives. Now back to our love. Our love is conditional, it is based on what other people do for us and how they reciprocate our love toward them. Our love is not God's love, but it should be. We should be loving the unlovable, the unlearned, the babes in Christ that may not understand all the great mysteries of God. We should take children into our home that didn't come from our dna and love them like they did. We should die to our selfish needs and wants and LOVE! Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the bretheren, love one another fervently with a pure heart. 1 Peter 1:22  The Love of God is the foundation for all things!
